The Toyota 86 (the concept car is called Toyota FT-86 Concept) is a global strategy FR small sports car that was first unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo International Motor Show by Toyota Motor of Japan. The concept car FT-86 was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009. It is a product of cooperation between Toyota Motor and Subaru Motors. The body shape is dominated by Toyota Motor’s ED2 design center in southern France, and the gearbox and drive system are also designed by Toyota Motor. The engine is a Boxer horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine designed by Subaru and introduced into Toyota’s D-4S direct injection system and high-speed design.

6. In terms of appearance, the design of the 86 comes from TOYOTA’s European Design Center ED2 in Nice, France, which evolved from the FT-HS concept car released by Toyota in 2007, so the design of the 86 is somewhat European in terms of styling. However, in terms of the overall feeling, we can still clearly feel its TOYOTA pedigree. The sharp angles and knife-edge folding lines on the body design are elements that often appear on TOYOTA sports models. Such a design does make the 86 look more sporty and avant-garde. In terms of overall appearance, the 86 is mainly aimed at the front bumper of the concept version, the shape of the headlights and taillights has been modified, and no major changes have been made in the entire body line.

8. Power part: Since the 86 was jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru, it is not surprising that this power system is provided by Subaru. The 86 with front and rear drive layout is equipped with a 2.0L horizontally opposed engine from Subaru, and TOYOTA has added in-cylinder direct injection technology to this engine. When matched with a 6-speed manual transmission, the maximum power is 200 PS / 7000 rpm, maximum torque of 205 Nm / 6600 rpm. However, starting from the modification potential, the 86 has the characteristics of Japanese performance cars with deep modification potential. It can be said that the 86 is undoubtedly a plaything worth looking forward to for performance car fans, and it will definitely become a beast after modification. The suspension system is MacPherson type at the front; double wishbone type at the rear. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.3 s (manual version, automatic 8.2 s). Top speed is 230 km/h (manual version, automatic 210 km/h).

9. The founder is Kiichiro Toyoda (1894-1952), and the current president is Akio Toyoda (grandson of Kiichiro Toyoda). Headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan and Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo.
The Toyota Consortium owns five Fortune 500 companies, namely Toyota Motor Corporation, Aisin Corporation (AISIN), Denso Corporation (DENSO), Toyota Automatic Loom Corporation, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation. More than a dozen first-level consortium companies are world-renowned companies, and the industrial chain covers all links of the automotive industry from upstream raw materials to downstream logistics.
